Ce que dit l'éditeurFrom Humboldt to Wade and Beyond Limited studies are conducted exploring the manifestation of ideas in public policy in Africa. In the case of Senegal, especially in higher education, this is unheard of. Yet, there is much that we can learn from analysing the philosophical background of most of the decisions that are taken in the sector. This monograph addresses this gap in research. As such, it presents an analysis of the evolution of higher education in Senegal through the lens of the philosophies and ideas from which originate the different policies and interventions catalogued through time. From the University of Wilhelm von Humboldt to the University of Abdoulaye Wade, the higher education of Senegal has gone through phases of deep mutations that were for the most directly influenced by the vision of its temporal leaders, each of them leaving a noticeable imprint on the system. |
©Electre 2024 |
